Meeti loves the smell of rain-soaked mornings, ghee-soaked dosas and airport lounges. She writes from a small blue desk in Mumbai where she lives with her husband and daughter and a dozen temperamental houseplants.

Meeti writes the Temple Hill Mysteries. Her books are published in the UK by Joffe Books, in India by Bloomsbury and in Japan by Hayakawa.

Her work has been shortlisted for the CWA Whodunnit Dagger 2025, the CWA Short Story Dagger 2025, the Margery Allingham Short Mystery Prize 2024 and the Times of India Auther Awards 2023. It has also been longlisted for the CWA New Blood Dagger 2022.

Her short fiction, personal essays and travel stories have been published in the US, UK and India in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, the Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, Condenast Traveller India, the Mint Lounge and India Today, as well as in anthologies by Hachette and Flame tree.

Apart from crime fiction, Meeti has also written a memoir called Do you know any good boys? Published by Pan Macmillan, it is  a funny guide to the Indian arranged marriage and was an Amazon bestseller in 2016.

 

Meeti began her career in advertising, where she spent more than sixteen years as a creative consultant and copywriter working on iconic brands like Emirates Airlines, Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces, the Economic Times, BBC GoodFood Magazine and Colgate Palmolive.

Meeti graduated from St. Xaviers College, Mumbai and holds a Masters in English Literature from the Mumbai University.

Short Bio

When she's not plotting murder, she works as a creative consultant and has had an award-winning career in advertising for over 16 years.
